Financial Times Global Events, in partnership with This is Africa magazine and the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (EMPEA) are pleased to present ‘Private Equity in Africa’, a one-day executive summit designed to support private equity limited partners (LPs) in their efforts to better assess the opportunities presented by private equity in Africa.
In 2009 growth is a rare and prized commodity. With the world economy set to shrink for the first time since 1945 there are still a few glimmers of hope.
The African continent has seen a decade of uninterrupted economic growth and while not unaffected by the global economic crisis, has shown a fair degree of resilience.
Growth in Sub-Saharan Africa is now forecast at 1.5% in 2009, with the IMF setting its estimates at 3.75 % for 2010. This growth is not underpinned solely by mineral and energy wealth, but by a broad base of sectors including agriculture, technology, telecoms, media and financial services.
With a distinguished speaker line-up of leading figures from the fund management, limited partner and public and private sector communities, ‘Private Equity in Africa’ will provide an intimate forum for debate and dialogue on the key issues in the industry, with attendance limited to senior industry representatives.
Places are strictly limited so please
