Peter Sanders is internationally recognised as one of the leading photographers of the Islamic World. He began his career in the mid-1960’s photographing legendary icons such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, The Who, The Stones and many more. In early 1970 Sanders’ attention turned inward which set him on a spiritual search that took him initially to India then onwards into the world of Islam, visiting countries with a range of Muslim diversities such as Saudi Arabia China, Morocco, Senegal, Mauritania, Jerusalem, Sudan, Iran, Turkey, Turkmenistan, to name but a few!
Since 1998, when he launched his first photographic exhibition in London, he has gone on to show many exhibitions around the world, with his latest project entitled ‘Art of Integration’, now showing in over 30 countries.
"My photography has always been an extension of my life. It is a wonderful process - a gift from God - that has allowed me to learn so much about myself, and the world around me. It’s like chasing a moment, trying to capture a beautiful bird in flight."
